      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Insert butterfly

    2. Weigh milk and cream into bowl

    3. Weigh sugar into bowl

    4. Mix vanilla paste with egg yolks, add to bowl

    5. Cook 9min 30seconds / 80 / sp3 / reverse

    6. Serve warm or pour into clean bowl over an ice bath to cool quickly.

Tip

You can use the scraped seeds from 1 vanilla bean in place of the vanilla paste.

 

This is a good base for ice cream so if you're making another flavor ice cream you can leave out the vanilla.
