- 750 grams water
- 525 grams white sugar
- 150 grams brown sugar
- 50 grams vanilla extract
- flavouring, if not using vanilla you can use other flavourings to taste depending on flavouring amounts will vary

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
Add sugar, water and brown sugar into thermomix bowl cook for 40min/varoma/"Gentle stir setting" m/c off.
add vanilla extract (you could add whatever flavour you would like at this point) and cook for further 5min/varoma/"Gentle stir setting" m/c off.
allow to cool a little and pour into prepared 1lt glass bottle.

**store in the fridge in an airtight container should last two to three weeks. Freeze some if you can not use it all in that time or you could make less and adjust cooking time**
