Apple Crumble or Red Berry Crumble

Stewed Apples

  • 6-10 apples
  • 80 grams water

Crumble

  • raw sugar, 1/2 cup (or castor sugar)
  • flour, 1 cup
  • dessicated coconut, 1/2 cup
  • 140 grams Butter, (cubed)

Red Berry Base

  • 500 grams mixed red berries, (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.       If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    Base preparation - stewed apples or red berries
  1. Peel and cut apples, add to jug with 80 grams water

    (tablespoon of sugar optional)

    Varoma (steaming temp) 12 minutes, Counter-clockwise operation reverse stir
    Extend/reduce cook time if needed.
  2. For red berry crumble place berries in baking dish.
    Drizzle with honey and then lemon juice
  3. Cumble preparation
  4. Add dry ingredients to jug followed by cubed butter.
    Process speed 4 for 20 seconds or until mixture resebles bread crumbs.
  5. Pour over fruit base/bases
  6. Baking
  7. Pre- heat oven to 200C/400F
    Bake 25 mins or until golden brown.
    Serve hot with ice cream.

Tip

You can mix crumble ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to make.

A quick easy dessert if you use frozen berry mix or pre preared stewed apple.
