Recipe's preparation

    Crumble
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180°C

    1. Add crumble ingredients to thermomix bowl and mix Speed 6 for a few seconds until resembles a crumble mixture.

    2. Line a tray with baking paper and bake crumble mix for 15 minutes - stirring half way through cooking. (This first bake is not necessary if you are in a hurry - this bake gives crumble enough crunch so it does not go soggy when fruit juices bubble up - with thanks to (//www.britishlarder.co.uk/twice-baked-quince-and-hazelnut-crumble-with-quince-custard/#axzz2eGUUSNba)

    3. Cool crumble mix
  2. Apple filling
  3. 1. Place peeled, cored and quartered apples, butter and brown sugar to thermomix bowl.

    2. Cook 100° for 5-6 minutes on speed 1

    3. Pour apple filling into ramekins or casserole dish and top with cooled crumble

4 Bake 15 minutes until golden brown.

    5. Serve with TM custard, cream or ice cream - of if you want to be really decadent all 3!

Tip

This crumble mixture is one of our families favourite and I have converted to thermomix in honour of my Mum who passed away in July this year. If you find it too sweet you can certainly cut down the sugar. Mum's recipe just called for regular flour but i use GF flour due to gluten intolerance in the family.

This makes quite a lot of crumble - so is great to keep in fridge and have handy for when you want to whip up a quick desert.

Wow wow wow. This is the most amazing apple crumble ever. I did cook the apples for another 10minutes and blitzed them speed 4 for 3secs. I was worried they would be too hard. The crumble looks odd when you first mix it but then you really should put it in the oven as recommended. It is simple but very delicious. Better than restaurant quality by far. Thankyou Thank you Thank you.
