Tip

These balls are a healthy way to satisfy a chocolate craving with considerably less guilt! They are packed full of antioxidants, dietary fibre, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.

Variation ideas:

In place of the almonds you can use any mix of raw nuts and seeds, for e.g. 50g nuts + 20g seeds (flax or chia for an extra burst of omega-3 fats). Add whole seeds at step 1 and grind with the cacao beans and nuts.

You can also use any mix of dried fruit, e.g. apricots, sultanas, raisins, berries

These are the best, love them & take them camping every year, as a priority! I put 1/2 the amount of coconut oil & they're still fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

I also make a 'quick fix' version of these treat balls using raw cacao instead of the nibs/beans as you suggest TJ. Take a look here . . .http://mixingituphk.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/raw-cacao-treat-balls.html

Sorry for the delay in my reply!
