      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place 100 g milk and flour into TM mixing bowl. Mix 20 sec/Counter-clockwise operation/speed 2. Using the TM spatula, scrape down sides and bottom of the TM bowl.
  2. Mix 10 sec/Counter-clockwise operation/speed 2. Set "frummels" aside.
  3. Without rinsing the TM bowl, place remaining milk into the bowl. Heat 20 min/98°C/Counter-clockwise operation/speed 1.5 Gentle stir setting.
  4. Once temperature is reached, slowly add flour “frummels” until all flour mixture has been added.
  5. The flour mixture must cook for 8–10 minutes so once all the flour mixture has all been added, ensure there is at least still 8-10 minutes left for the mixture to cook, otherwise add extra cooking time.
  6. Serve hot, liberally sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

Tip

You may add a cinnamon quill to the milk and sugar to taste.
Increase the butter in the milk mixture to give a more buttery flavour.
By doubling the frummel mixture, this will result in a much thicker melkkos.
