If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
- Prepare a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
Place almonds in bowl and roast 5 minutes/Varoma/reverse sp1. Set aside. - Place sugar, water, vanilla and cinnamon in bowl and cook 3 mins/110/sp1.
- Start sugar syrup cooking for 5 minutes/Varoma/reverse sp 1 then, when syrup is bubbling, add almonds through hole in lid and leave MC off while the almonds are coated in the syrup and cooked for the rest of the set time.
- Stir almonds with spatula then cook for a further 3 minutes/Varoma/reverse speed 1 or until syrup starts to crystallise.
Pour almonds onto a sheet of baking paper and spread out in one layer to cool. - Store in a sealed container.

Mine didn't 'candy'... the syrup is still kind of sticky... shall I cook it again?
