Recipe's preparation

    To make:
  1. 1. Insert butterfly

     

    2. Add all ingredients to the bowl. Beat for 1 minute on sp 4.

     

    3. Scrape down sides of bowl and beat on sp 4 for a further 10 seconds. You can add food colouring here if you wish.

Tip

* This made enough to generously ice 18-20 cupcakes with a piping bag.

 

* If you want Chocolate buttercream, add 4 tablespoons cocoa powder and increase milk to 40 grams.

    This was EXCELLENT! The most beautiful icing (I made chocolate buttercream), as another suggested. 50g less of sugar, added 50g of cocoa and a bit more milk. I paired it with the "chocolate devils food cake" (also thermie), and had 15 people at my party comment on the cake.


    Thank you for this lovely recipe. Oh and I too didn't use the butterfly. Found it wouldn't mix for me with it in? tmrc_emoticons.-)

    Beautiful icing, perfect for icing cupcakes. My poor thermomix didn't cope with it's initial mixing. I found it was best to mix without the butterfly for the first 10 seconds and then add the butterfly for the remaining time. Worked fine after that. Thanks for sharingSmile

    I followed the directions to make the chocate buttercream but had to add an extra 40g milk and whip half the batch a tiny but first to get it moving. But it worked and it turned out beautifully! First time making buttercream in  my thermy and it was a huge success!
