  • 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2-3 cm piece fresh ginger

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add ginger and garlic to Closed lid, place on lid and insert MC, blitz for 3sec, sp5.
  2. Scrape down then add cayenne pepper, tumeric powder and water.
  3. Place on lid and insert MC. Use the kettle function on TM6 (see tips for TM5 & TM31); once boiled simmer for 7min 70deg sp1.
  4. Strain and pour into 2 teacups; squeeze in half the juice and 1 tsp honey into each cup. Give a good stir.
  5. Drink and relax.

Tip

You can also use a TM5 or TM31.
Instead of using the kettle function in step 3, set the timer for 5min, 100deg, sp1. It may boil quicker or slower depending on water temp you placed in bowl.
