2 pod star anise
1 sticks cinnamon quill
500 g water
300 g Milk of choice
dash Freshly ground black pepper
1 heaped tsp ceylon tea, leaves
3 heaped teaspoons sugar or honey

  If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
  For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
  
  Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

Spicy Chai Tea

Place ginger root, cardamom pods, cinnamon stalk, and star anise in the TM bowl, and roughly chop 3 sec/speed 6. Scrape down sides of bowl.

Add the rest of the ingredients, and cook 9 mins/ 80C/ speed3.

Poor immediately, through a fine sieve. Leftovers can be kept overnight in a glass bottle with a lid.

Tip

Any milk of choice can be used. For extra portions, or bigger cups, simply add more water or milk, whichever you prefer.
If you can get your hands on fresh turmeric root, by all means add a 1-2cm piece at the first step, don't forget the black pepper as this helps to absorb the turmeric better for good health.
