Steamed Salmon with Garlic and Ginger (Ca Hap Toi Gung) (Fructose Friendly)

Ingredients

2 portion(s)

Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 20 g Garlic Oil
  • 30 g oyster sauce
  • 30 g soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Rest of Dish

  • 300 g Jasmine rice
  • 2 salmon fillets, fresh
  • 200 g Bok Choy/Pak Choy
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 1/2 Capsicum, cut into strips

Recipe's preparation

    Sauce
  1. Fill and boil your kettle

  2. Heat Ginger and Garlic Oil in Thermomix at 100°for 3 minutes on soft speed Gentle stir setting

  3.  Add Oyster Sauce, Soy Sauce, Sugar and Black Pepper and cook at 100°for 5 minutes on soft speed Gentle stir setting

  4.  Put sauce aside in a little jug for serving

  5. Rest of Dish
  6. Rinse Rice and place in steamer basket (300g Rice, 700g Hot Water from kettle) and cook for 6 minutes, on Varoma, speed 4

  7. Place Salmon in Varoma dish with Bok Choy/Pak Choy, Julienned Carrots and Capsicum strips in Varoma tray and cook for a further 10 minutes

  8. To serve, remove Salmon and Veges from Varoma and slide onto a plate with steamed Rice

  9. Take to table with jug of Sauce

Tip

By not cleaning your jug after making the Sauce, the flavours left over infuse the Rice

    Made this tonight for dinner with Gummy Shark.  The sauce was amazing!! I didn't have any garlic oil so just used garlic and olive oil instead.  My 6 year old loved it as well.  I used zucchinni, carrots and brocolli as my vegies, the sauce complemented these beautifully as well.  Will be a definate on my regular menu.
