      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Chop Ginger 5 seconds, speed 8. Srape down bowl and repeat.

  2. Add soy sauce, honey, sesame oil and mix 10 seconds speed 7.

  3. Place marinade in a bowl with fish and allow to sit for 15 - 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

  4. Line varoma tray with wet baking paper, mould into shape to hold fish and marinade during steaming.

  5. Place 1000mls water in Thermomix bowl, place fish and marinade into lined Varoma tray & cover with Varoma lid. Steam 18 minutes Varoma temperature, speed 1.

    I added veggies to bottom of varoma, fish wasn't cooked, put in oven, great taste.

    Nice easy and healthy dinner.

    I made this with flathead tails and i think 16 minutes would have done as it was a bit chewy.

    Also added brocolli, beans, snow peas and carrots to the bottom of the varoma and they went very nicely with the fish and were well cooked after 18 minutes
