Tip

These are great for the lunchbox! My 8 yo loves them with a mini container of tomato sauce for dipping!

I use a round takeaway container as a template for cutting the rounds for the pasties.

To freeze: Place in a single layer in an airtight container. Freeze for up to 3 months. Remove from freezer the night before. Place on a plate & refrigerate. Transfer to a lunchbox or snap lock bag in the morning.

Great flavours in this filling. I did find it a little watery and had to add more cornflour and in the end finished it off in a frypan to evaporate the water. Next time I will use two heaped ts of cornflour and mix it in the Worcestershire sauce. I would omit the water. I have frozen half of the mixture for next time. Hope it doesn’t lose any flavour.

Delicious! Added sweet potato and used fresh carrot instead of frozen. Used 250g mince. Made some into sausage roll shape for the kids. Used the pie machine cutter to cut the pastry.

superquilter55: Yes, it's definitiely best to let the mince mixture cool as per step 4 before making the pasties. I usually make the mixture the day before, refrigerate overnight, then make the pasties when the mixture is cold. I like the 'mini meat pies', so cute!

These were very tasty. Had great trouble getting them to look like pasties as the mince was so hot it was melting the pastry. Next time would let the mixture cool and then put in pastry. My sons called them mini meat pies.

Absolutely delicious thank you.  tmrc_emoticons.) I swapped the peas for finely chopped broccoli and cauliflower. Had a mix of some with cheese and some without and some with puff  pastry and some with short  crust pastry. Can't decide which was better. Used half the mixture and left half in the thermy and mixed with coconut milk and curry powder. Coooked on 100 degrees for 10 mins on reverse and made a little vegie/beef curry with the leftovers.
