Mini Falafels, Carrot Salad and Green Tahini sauce

Ingredients

2 portion(s)

Falafels

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas, Soaked in water overnight (or approx 8 hours)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 heaped teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Handful of Corinader with Stalks
  • handful of mint leaves
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 heaped tablespoons brown rice
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, plus some additional for frying

Carrot Salad

  • 3 large carrots, roughly chopped
  • 50 g raisins
  • 1 Juice of a lemon
  • 1 juice of an orange
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Green Tahini

  • 90 g hulled tahini or 4-5Tbs hemps seeds
  • Handful of Corinader with Stalks
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 clove garlic fresh
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • pinch pepper
  • water for desired consistency

Recipe's preparation

    Falafels
  1. Place Cumin seeds and brown rice in the TM bowl, grind for 1 minute speed 10

    add all other ingredients and mix on speed 7 until thick paste forms.

    Refridgerate until other Green Tahini and Carrot salad are made.

    Take mixture from fridge and make small balls. (i made approx . 20, so they were small enough for the kids to eat)

    using a fry pan, fry the balls in oil until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper.

     

  2. Carrot Salad
  3. Place carrots in TM bowl, chop 3 secs on speed 5.

    Scrape down sides and if you would like a little finer, then chop for a few few seconds until desired consistency.

    Using the MC on the TM bowl, strain the lemon juice and orange juice over the carrot. Remove into a serving bowl add a splash of Olive oil and the raisins and stir.

  4. Green Tahini Sauce
  5. Place all ingredients in TM bowl, blend for 15secs on speed 7

    If required, add some water for a thinner sauce. Add extra salt pepper for flavour.

Tip

We had these with Wraps, place down the tahini and place the falafals and carrot salad on top, wrap and enjoy. Remove the wraps for gluten free option

    This recipe is amazing!! I didnt use the salad part of the recipe only the falafels and they have been a huge part of our meals ever since. The only think i changed is i add around 4-5 Tbs of rice as i find the mixture is a bit runny. PERFECT RECIPE THOUGH!!

    Unfortunately these were not a hit with the family. I was the only one who thought they were 'ok'. The carrot salad was eaten, but the dip was too garlicky for everyone and the falafels were very dry and didn't taste like much. They looked good, though. tmrc_emoticons.;-)
