Red Lentil Dahl

  • 25g tablespoon Olive Oil/Coconut oil
  • 1-2 brown onions, Cut into quarters
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, Peeled
  • 2cm piece of fresh ginger, Peeled
  • Half tsp ground cumin
  • Half tsp Ground Coriander
  • Half tsp Yellow mustard powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground tumeric
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 210g dried red lentils
  • 1 can Diced Tinned Tomatoes
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 2 Cups vegetable stock, I use stock paste recipe (2tbsp into 2 cups of water)
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1-2 Cups Baby Spinach Leaves

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add Garlic and Ginger to bowl
    5 seconds Sp 7.5
    Scrape bowl
    Add Onions 3 seconds Sp 6
    Scrape bowl
    Add olive oil
    Saute 6 minutes Varoma Reverse Sp 1
    Add Cumin, Coriander, mustard, tumeric and garam masala
    Cook 1 minute Varoma Reverse Sp 1
    Add Lentils, tinned tomatoes, Vegetable stock, coconut milk And salt and pepper
    Cook 20 minutes Varoma reverse sp 2

    Add Spinach and gently stir through
    Serve with Rice and Naan Bread
