Spinach and Ricotta Pasta Shells with Sauce

Pasta Shells

  • 1 package Large Pasta Shells Pasta
  • 250 grams ricotta, Well drained
  • 250 grams Frozen spinach, Well drained
  • 30 grams Grated Pecorino Cheese
  • 30 grams Grated Romano Cheese
  • 30 grams Grated Parmesan Cheese

Pasta Sauce

  • 2 cans whole peeled tomatoes (400g each)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Onion halved
  • 6 leaves basil
  • 1 level tsp dried oregano
  • 100 grams olive oil
  • 2 cans empty tomato cans filled with water
  • 50 grams Chopped Mozarella Cheese, To put on top of Sauce when serving

Recipe's preparation

    Pasta Shells
  1. Place Ricotta, Spinach and Cheeses in the TM Bowl and mix for 10 sec on speed 5.  You may need to help it all mix together.

    Fill each pasta shell with the mixture using a spoon and compact the mixture in each shell.

    Place each shell on top Varoma tray and bottom.  This imixture depending on the size of the shells will fill approximately 30 shells.

    Prepare your sauce as below them place the Vaoma on top and cook for 60 min on Varoma Speed 2

  3. Chop Garlic, Onions, Basil for 5 sec speed 7. 

    Add olive oil and saute for 6 min on Varoma speed 1

    Add cans of tomato and oregano.  Then fill both empty cans with water and place also in the TM bowl.

    Cook for 60 min Varoma Speed 2 with the Varoma on top filled with the stuffed pasta shells as above

Tip

Depending on the make of pasta shells will cook anywhere between 45-60 min.  Please drain the ricotta in the fridge overnight if you can and sqeeze all the water out of the frozen defrosted spinach.  I find the best Tomato Cans to use are the Annalisa brand.

After cooking time pour tomato sauce over the shells and decorate with some mozarella or other cheese you like.  You can serve still on the Varoma tray as shown in the picture.
