Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
1. Weigh rice in steam basket then rinse under a tap. Put basket in thermomix bowl. 2. Add coconut milk and water. 3. Add bacon and mixed vegetables on top of rice. Cook 10 mins/110 degrees/speed 3. 4. Whisk an egg in a mug. Get baking paper, scrunch it up and wet it. Lay the baking paper out in the steam basket on top of the vegetables and tip the egg on top of the paper. Cook 10 mins/110 degrees/speed 2. When finished cut up the egg with your spatula and toss all ingredients in thermoserver with soy sauce.

Tip
If using TM31, use varoma temperature instead of 110 degrees
Make sure in the first step that your rice is rinsed well and all wet (sometimes I sit in a little bowl of water first) this way you won't get uncooked bits of rice.

Hi, can you just confirm that I add the coconut milk and water to the basket? On top of the rice? Or to the bowl below.

I doubled this with no problems - just added a few extra minutes of cooking time and it was cooked well. There wasn't much flavour but I am serving it with a stir fry so that could be a good thing.

Great recipe, hardly any mess to clean up and makes just the right amount for 2, love it!
not sure you could double it
not sure you could double it biindii, you could possibly go to 150g of rice and add some more veg plus another egg. Did you rinse your rice? That helps with the cooking, Basmati is much nicer in this than white rice too
Great amount. Can you double
Great amount. Can you double it? How long should I cook for if I do? The rice possibly needed to cook longer, I'm not sure if it was Basmati though??
