Cauliflower Mash

Print:
4

Ingredients

4 portion(s)

Cauliflower Mash

  • 1 cauliflower (roughly chopped)
  • Butter
  • Animal Fat or Coconut Oil (optional)
5

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place cauliflower into bowl.

    Chop speed 6 until fine.

Cook at 100 degrees, speed 3, 5 minutes

Optional: I also added animal fat to assist with the cooking process, to give the dish extra flavour and to make it more filling. This also makes the dish low carb, high fat (LCHF). Coconut oil would also achieve this if you prefer.

Once cauliflower is cooked, add butter (amount depends on your personal taste) and puree speed 8 until desired consistency.

Tip

Use as a low carb alternative to potato mash.

We served ours with Kangaroo Steak grilled in ghee - delicious!

First time making but I thought I’d add a clove of garlic as above comment and other recipes I’ve seen. Hmmm it was not a good idea. Only 1 clove but it was way too strong and overwhelming. I forced my self to eat it. We let the kids off with just a tiny taste.

Hi Thermoford, apologies for the delay in replying - I didn't have notifications switched on!

I definitely pushed it all down after the initial chopping at speed 6, but didn't need to push it down during the actual cooking process. If it's not looking "done" at the 5 minute mark then perhaps push down and cook a little longer, but it shouldn't need it.

    I hope that helps!

Great and creamy mash, do you have to push it down a lot to cook?
