- 1.5 onions, (Medium to large)
- 1 garlic clove
- 100 grams plain flour
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon Garum masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin

- .5 teaspoon turmeric
- .5-1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 110 grams water

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
- 1. Place garlic into mixing bowl and chop 3 seconds / speed 7
2. Add flour, salt, spices and water to mixing bowl and mix 20 seconds / speed 4 to make a thick batter
3. Scrape down sides of the bowl and leave batter to sit for 30 minutes
4. Meanwhile, peel onions and chop in half (top to bottom). Cut each half into thin semi-circles
5. Heat a small amount of oil in a large frying pan and sweat onions down until soft
6. Stir cooked onions into batter mixture
7. Shallow fry bhajis in oil. Once cooked on both sides (a few minutes per side) place on paper towel to soak excess oil.
