- Eggs up to 8 med size
- 30g dried red chillies-, deseeded, soaked in hot water 5-10mins,drained and rinsed
- 50g garlic
- 300g onions, halved
- 15g Dried shrimp paste (belacan)
- 20g+40g ikan bilis (dried anchovies) washed and drained
- 80g oil of choice
- 1.5tsp salt
- 30g sugar
- 1tbsp tamarind paste concentrated
- 30g water

Recipe's preparation
1. Place 500g water in TM bowl , place eggs in basket - cook 14mins/V temp/sp1, then put aside.
2. In TM bowl place chilli, garlic, onions,shrimp paste, 20g anchovies-10sec/sp8
3. Repeat for finer paste
4. Add oil, place basket over lid instead of MC - cook 15mins/100c/sp1
5. Add sugar, salt, tamarind paste,water-15mins/100c/sp1
6. Add 40g anchovies-5min/100c/Reverse/sp1
7. Pour sambal over peeled hard-boiled eggs and serve with sliced cucumbers as accompaniment to nasi lemak (fragrant coconut rice) or steamed white rice.

Use sambal as a spicy side dish, or pour over fried/grilled fish, panfried prawns or sliced calamaris .
