Recipe's preparation

    Marinade
  1. Place steak cut into serving sizes in a dish.

Place garlic, half the ginger in TM bowl and chop for 3-5 seconds on speed 7.  Add 40g soy sauce and 30g kecap manas to the bowl and mix for 5 seconds on speed 4.

Pour the marinade over the meat.  Leave to marinade for 20 minutes, turning the meat once.

  2. Sauce
  3. Rinse out TM bowl then add remaining ginger and chilli to bowl and chop for 5-10 seconds on speed 7.  Add the remaining soy sauce (35g), kecap manas (40g), chicken stock and brown sugar to TM bowl.  Cook for 8 minutes at 90C on speed 1.

Pour sauce into the thermoserver, the 1ltr one if you are lucky enough to have one of these.

Rinse TM bowl ready to use again.

  4. Vegies and Rice

Place vegies in Varoma dish, rice in basket (the rice is an extra and the sauce will soak into the rice, so just cook what you may want as a small side, so around 35-40g per person).  Add 800g water to TM bowl and leave set up ready to start

  5. Meat
  6. Heat a little oil on the bbq or in a pan to cook the meat on a high temperature for 3-4 minutes on each side.

Remove from heat and place meat on a plate covered with foil and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  7. Back to Vegies and Rice
  8. Once you have turned the meat come back to the vegies and rice and cook for 14 minutes at Varoma temperature on speed 4.

Serve rice and vegies on plate, place the steak on top and pour the sauce over.
