My Mum's Choc Chip Biscuits

  • 125 grams Salted butter, softened
  • 110 grams white sugar
  • 80 grams brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 280 grams self-raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 125 grams chocolate chips
  • 60 grams walnut pieces, (optional)

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven (fan forced) to 160 degrees celcius and prepare 2 baking trays.
  2. Add butter, white sugar, brown sugar and vanilla to mixing bowl.
    Mix 30sec/speed 4. Scrape down sides.
  3. Insert butterfly. Add one egg.
    Mix 10sec/speed 3.
  4. Add one egg.
    Mix 10sec/speed 3.
    Remove butterfly.
  5. Add flour and salt.
    Mix 10sec/speed 6.
  6. Dough mode"Dough mode" 20 seconds.
  7. Add chocolate chips and walnut pieces(if using).
    Mix 10sec/reverse/speed 3.
  8. Place teaspoons of dough on baking trays, leaving space to spread.
    No need to roll dough into balls.
    Bake for 12 minutes until lightly golden.
    Cool on tray for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.     If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
