Dim Sim Sausage Rolls

  • 3 sheets ready-made puff pastry, Just thawed
  • 1x 200g package Coleslaw mix, Rinsed (see photo)
  • 2 stalks green onion, Roughly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 can canned water chestnuts, Drained
  • 500 g pork mince
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 level tsp ginger paste
  • 1 heaped tsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 egg, Whisked
  • sesame seeds, For sprinkling, optional

Dipping sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Sweet chilli sauce
  • Squeeze of lemon juice

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    How to:
  1. 1. Rinse coleslaw and add to Closed lid with green onion, water chestnuts and garlic. Chop 3secs/sp5

    2. Set aside in a colander, sprinkle with 2 tspns of salt and leave to drain for 10 minutes.

    3. Add the pork, ginger, soy, cornflour, sesame oil and soy sauce to the Closed lid

    4. Squeeze out as much liquid as you can from the drained coleslaw mix and return to the Closed lid

    5. Blend 30secs/sp4.5/Counter-clockwise operation, using your spatula if necessary to assist.

    6. Cut the pastry sheet in half and place a rolled portion (formed in your hands), onto the bottom of the sheet, leaving a little border.

    7. Moisten one edge with the egg and fold over sausage roll style. Complete until all done

    8. Brush with remaining egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds ( if using)

    9. Place on baking paper lined sheets and bake for 25 minutes or until golden

    10. Serve with the dipping sauce
