      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Insert butterfly.

    Cream butter 1 min/speed 4 until light and fluffy.

    Scrape down sides of TM bowl.

    Add vanilla. Beat 2 mins/speed 4 whilst gradually adding icing sugar through hole in lid until icing is smooth.

    Add sufficient water to give a spreading consitancy. After adding any water, beat again for 15 secs/speed 4.

Tip

Adapted from Edmonds butter cream icing found on page 76 of the Edmonds Cookery book 2007 platinum edition.

 

To make icing from raw sugar, first measure 165g raw sugar into TM bowl and mill 20 seconds/speed 10. Then set aside til needed.

 

Recipe makes enough to ice cupcakes by spreading. To pipe 16 cupcakes as in picture shown, double recipe amount.
