    Submitted by FionaCallisto on 4. July 2015 - 18:16.

im so sorry alison that you had such a fail, as have been making these cupcakes for years and have never had a problem.

the only thing i can think of is perhaps the oven temp wasnt high enough or they wernt cooked long enough.

the mix is a very thin liquid mix not a thick batter type mix but i have never had a problem with it.

did you cook cupcakes or a whole cake?

Not sure as have never had that happen, maybe because of the reduced sugar alters the  recipe, maybe if there are any bakers out there they may be able to offer suggestions

These are delicious! My favourite texture - moist with a lovely crumb. I heavily reduced the sugar but kept the cocoa as I love a strong chocolate taste. A bit of the cake tended to stay on the wrapper - not sure why?

Thanks - these were winners! Like many others, I reduced sugar (to 350 g) because 400 g sounded like so much but then of course, we're making a double batch of cupcakes! Recipe worked well.

I only put 300g of sugar in (I just couldn't bring myself to put the whole 420g!) and 50g of cocoa. They're in the oven baking now, the batter tasted good so I am assuming the finished product will too  tmrc_emoticons.;)
