Recipe's preparation
Place caster sugar in TM bowl & mix for 10 sec at speed 9.
Place remainder of all ingredients into TM bowl. Mix for 10 seconds on speed 6 to combine.
Add chopped pitted dates
Set dial to closed lid position, knead for 1 minute on interval setting.
Place mixture onto lightly floured surface and press out until 2cm thick.
Cut into rounds using a scone cutter or the end of a drinking glass.
Bake in 200 degree Celsius oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

These were good but my dates got chopped too small. Maybe you could fix your steps - step 2 says to add all remaining ingredients (which I did, including the dates) and mix, but after that is says to add dates?

Yum! I made a few adjustments: 180g dates and 50g naked ginger, turbo x3 @0.5 secs to chop, then just added the rest of the ingredients. And I didn't have enough cream, so I used 100ml cream and replaced the water with buttermilk. Will definitely be saving this and using again, thanks Michelle!

These were yummy! i have a small oven so they did go too brown too quickly but I made sure I put the next batch on the bottom of the oven and turned the heat down to 180 in the last 5 minutes, worked perfectly. thanks for sharing!

Lovely and moist, but 200 was way too hot for my oven too. The outside browned quickly and the mixture was still raw inside. Will have to experiment with oven temps. will make again, did you use fan force on your oven?

whipped these up this morning for afternoon tea, couldn't resist trying them out. Very light and good texture but will leave out the bicarb soda next time as it left a metallic aftertaste. Quick and easy to prepare.
