Grandma's Anzac Biscuits

  • 125 g Butter
  • 80 g golden syrup
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 30 g water
  • 145 g flour
  • 200 g raw sugar
  • 100 g rolled oats
  • 80 g dessicated coconut
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
    Line 2 baking trays with baking paper

    Melt butter and golden syrup
    2 minutes / 60 degrees / speed 2

    Add bicarbonate of soda and water
    5 seconds / speed 3

    Add flour, raw sugar, rolled oats, coconut and vanilla
    10 seconds / Counter-clockwise operation / speed 4

    Scrape down sides
    10 seconds / Counter-clockwise operation / speed 4

    Place teaspoon size balls onto baking trays approx 2.5cm apart

    Bake for 8-10 minutes

    Cool on tray before moving to rack
