  • 400 grams sugar
  • 245 grams yoghurt
  • 75 grams cocoa powder
  • 10 grams bicarbonate of soda

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    Chocolate Cake
  1. Place butter into TM bowl and melt for 3 minutes at 60C on speed 1. Check that the butter is completely melted, if not, melt for a further 30 seconds.
  2. Add sugar, yoghurt, cocoa powder, bicarbonate of soda, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking powder and coffee.
  3. Mix 40 seconds, speed 5
  4. Bake in a 20cm greased and lined cake tin for one hour or until skewer comes out clean.

Tip

You can cook in a 23cm tin - reduce cook time to 50 minues or until skewer comes out clean.

If you want a slightly fudgey centre. Remove before the skewer comes out completely clean.

Freeze overnight or until needed and ice a few hours after it comes out of the freezer. Bring on the birthdays
