      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Line a loaf tin with baking paper.

Place peanut butter, honey and vanilla into thermomix bowl and melt for 5 minutes/70 degrees/speed 2.

Place puffed rice into a large bowl and pour hot mixture ontop and combine.

Pour into lined tin and press down with measuring cup.

Place in fridge to set for 2 hours.

When set place chocolate into thermomix bowl and chop 5 seconds/speed 9.

Melt chocolate for 5 minutes/50 degrees/speed 2. Add extra time if needed and then pour over slice to form a thin layer of chocolate. Place back into the fridge for another hour until set.

Cut into pieces with a sharp knife and store in pantry in an airtight container for up to a week.

Hi there, what sort of peanut butter do you use? I like to use 100% nuts. Would that work?

Thanks everyone for the previous comments! Meant I made a succfess batch first go tmrc_emoticons.)

I free poured the honey in.. so ended uo with about 95g in there instead of 70g. I cooked for 7 minutes, 70 degrees, reverse speed 2 and came out perfect! I than added about 50g of rice puffs, and mixed for 15 seconds reverse speed 3. I decided to pop them into silicon muffin pan instead of slice tin tmrc_emoticons.) Currently in the fridge chilling.

  • Initially I had the same

    Submitted by CindHarvey on 7. September 2015 - 22:14.

Initially I had the same "gluey" problem and when I increased the speed and tried to cook for longer it resembled grated cheese (thermie style) And the oil seperated.  So added a HEAP more honey (sorry I didn't measure it because it was just a bit of hit and miss) and I chose the reverse cycle Counter-clockwise operation and heated it to 70 Degreees on speed 2 for another two minutes.  I then scraped into a bowl and mixed with rice bubbles and then into my dish and covered with chocolate and then into the fridge.  It is definitely a winner!  Simple and time efficient once you have the right consistency

Alas  I ploughed on without reading your comments... Mine was stiff as a corpse too... But I nearly doubled the honey and re mixed it and got it to blob -ability, it mixed with rice bubbles (though still reluctantly) and is chilling now. Should taste ok as the lickings did lol

Agree with previous comments, peanut butter and honey does not mix together as per instructions. Look forward to this recipe being refined to fix this, as it has great potential  tmrc_emoticons.)

  • I love the concept of this

    Submitted by sandyfg on 4. February 2015 - 19:05.

I love the concept of this recipe but I had the same problem as the previous post. The peanut butter and honey didn't melt and just clumped together and the oil also seperated from the peanut butter. I tried more time and a higher temp but it didn't help. Not sure what could be done to fix it. Also the quantity of rice bubbles doesn't seem enough. I would like to see all quantites increased and it put in a slice tin not loaf tin. My little girl loved it and it does taste great, just a few minor issues! Thanks for the recipe.

  • Not doing anything wrong.

Not doing anything wrong. Maybe increase temp to 90 degrees. Some peanut butters are thicker than others

I couldn't get my peanut butter and honey to melt. What did I do wrong?? It insisted on staying stuck together in a clump despite further melting attempt...
