I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees (fan forced)

Add butter, brown sugar and golden syrup to bowl and mix 3 min / 60 deg / sp 2

Add in flour, bicarb soda, ginger, cinnamon and ground cloves

Mix 30 sec / sp 4 or until well combined

Roll out onto Thermomat to about ½ cm thickness and sit in fridge for 10 mins

Cut into circles (or whatever shape you want!) and cook in oven for 10-15 minutes

    Cool on the tray

Tip

A warmer oven and faster cooking time will result in softer biscuits, a lower temp and slower cooking time will make them more crunchy.

I baked mine on the oven thermomat and they turned out really well

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

I found the mixture far too runny, but adding an extra 60g flour and 2Tbspn wheatgerm did the treat.
Came out crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Made 40 small cookies.
