Healthy Bircher Muesli

  • 2 apple, red, Quartered
  • 2 heaped teaspoons chia seeds
  • 2 heaped teaspoons sunflower seeds
  • 2 heaped teaspoons pumpkin seed
  • 2 heaped tablespoons raw almonds
  • 120 g rolled oats
  • 600 g yoghurt

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    Healthy Bircher Muesli
  1. Place apple, nuts and seeds into the bowl. Blitz 2 seconds on speed 10.
    Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
    Add oats, yoghurt and cinnamon.
    Mix Speed 4 for 4 seconds on reverse.
    Decant into jars or bowls. Refrigerate overnight.
    Top with berries before eating. (If using frozen berries, top before refrigerating so they'll defrost by the morning)

Tip

Serve with honey or maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter Bircher muesli. Dried fruit can also be added in with the nuts and seeds. Dessicated coconut is a nice touch too!
Muesli can last in the fridge for up to 4 days.
