      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 celsius

    1. Add onion to the TM bowl and chop 3 seconds/speed 8. Set aside

    2. Add cheese to the TM bowl and grate 5 seconds/speed 8. Set aside with the onion.

    3. Without cleaning the bowl, add the flour, salt, buttermilk, butter and baking powder to the bowl and mix 6 seconds/speed 6 to combine.

    4. Knead the dough for 1.5 minutes/Dough mode, adding the cheese and onion mix with 30 seconds to go.

    5. Turn the dough out onto a thermomat or lightly floured surface, shape into a ball and then flatten with your hand until approx 5cm/2 inches thick.

    6. Cut a deep cross into the dough and dust with a little flour

    7. Bake for 30 minutes, then serve warm

Tip

You can make plain soda bread by omitting the onion and cheese

This is a Paul Hollywood recipe that I converted for the thermomix

This is a great recipe to use up the buttermilk left over from making butter

  • Hi, I think it would convert

    Submitted by Gaeby on 25. February 2016 - 14:01.

    Hi,

I think it would convert to rolls. From the size of the dough I would say 8 small or 6 medium size rolls.
