Tip

This is best enjoyed straight from the oven so the choc chunks are still gooey.

  • Delicious! Needed to use up

    Submitted by lucindajubb on 10. October 2016 - 16:26.

Delicious! Needed to use up some bananas I had frozen, reduced the amount and changed the type of sugar to suit our preferences and used a lesser amount of cacao instead of cocoa. Baked as muffins not as a whole loaf. All in all a scrumptious afternoon tea. Thanks for sharing!

  • Fabulous recipe. The kids

    Submitted by kammerlaan on 29. September 2016 - 00:07.

    Fabulous recipe.

The kids loved them (We all did). It was the perfect amount of batter  to fill 2, 6 cup silicone mini loaf trays (12 cakes in total) and I adjusted cooking time accordingly. Will definitely be making them again.

This was more like a brownie, winning! Used less cocoa and sugar but was still nice and sweet for us.

  • We've made this a few times

    Submitted by Protea on 15. December 2014 - 14:32.

We've made this a few times as a cake and yesterday as muffins.  Best eaten hot as the chocolate is still gooey and yummy.  We like it with icecream as a dessert.  Kids love them cold in their lunch box too.  Thanks for a great recipe it is a regular in our house.  I use less banana sometimes if they are very ripe for a less banana taste.  Big Smile

  • Great! Chocolate taste is

    Submitted by bubb_es on 28. September 2014 - 00:22.

Great! Chocolate taste is stronger than banana, but liked it that way. I cut to 90g caster sugar because I used combination of  70 g dark and 100 g milk chocolate chunks. Sweetness was just right. It is actually more cake-like than bread as the name suggests.
