Dough

  • 160 g Milk
  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 100 g sugar
  • 500 g Plain White Flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 25 g oil
  • pinch salt
  • 150 g sultanas
  • Sesame seeds for decoration

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add milk and yeast to bowl. Mix for 2 minutes, speed 1, 37 degrees.

  2. Add sugar, flour, two eggs, oil and salt. Mix 10 sec, speed 5. 

  3. Activate dough mode and mix for 1 minute. Add sultanas and mix for further 30 seconds (on dough mode). 

  4. Remove the dough from the bowl. Form into a rough ball. Allow to prove for 30 minutes. 

  5. Divide dough into three even pieces. Stretch into long pieces. Braid into plait. Place on greased baking tray. Brush with one egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. 

  6. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Allow to prove for a further 30minutes then place into the hot oven. 

  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
