      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Dough Preparation
  1. 1. Put garlic into TM bowl at 3seconds on speed 7

    2. Add cheese and chop for a further 5seconds on speed 7

3.Set aside and do not clean bowl

    4. Place water and yeast into TM bowl and heat for 1 min at 37 degrees on speed 1.

    5. Allow to sit for at least 10 mins

    6. Add flour, salt, sugar, yoghurt and oil into the TM bowl and combine for 5 sec, speed 7

    7. After all ingredients are well combined, knead dough for 3 minutes.

    8. Turn out dough onto thermo mat and wrap. Allow dough to prove for approximately one hour - if you do not have a thermomat you can place into a lightly oiled bowl cover in glad wrap.

    9. Preheat oven to 220. Divide in 12 equal portions and roll into oval shapes

    10. Brush with additional olive oil and sprinkle garoic and cheese on top.

    11. Place into a preheated oven at 220 degrees for 5 minutes

Very nice. Made a batch the other day as recipe is. Made another batch today but put sundryed tomatos, garlic fetta cheese, shaved ham, fresh basil and a sprinkle of the reserved garlic cheese. Umm very nice. I would love to make a batch and freeze for work lunches. Does anyone know if they freeze well.

Glad I read all the comments before trying: as others have said, definitely not naan, but is a great flatbread that was loved by husband, myself, and the three year old.

Next time we're going to try different toppings, it seems like it would be very versatile.

Just wanted to add a note that I ended up overcooking them, because at 5 minutes the cheese was just melty and the dough still white, so I left them in for a bit longer and they ended up quite crispy, which hubby loved so it worked out well!

We all loved the cheesy garlic naan! Perfect to have with our Dahl for dinner. I was planning to freeze the excess, but I really don't think there'll be any left as we all keep going back for more after dinner. Will make again! I used a tasty cheese and it was delicious.

Excellent bread alternative. Mine were a bit thicker than should be as I made 9 instead of 12. Would have liked more garlic but will add more next time, it was very nice with the addition of cheese.

    Submitted by 5554 on 1. August 2015 - 09:12.

We have never even tried naan (store bought or home made) and recipe appealed to me because of the 'cook in the oven factor'. Was looking for something different instead of a heavy bread to feed the troops for tea.

Was super simple to make, and we all loved it. So light and fluffy.

Wont be the last time I make this, thanks for sharing.

    Amazing!!!

Great recipe. Very easy too. For the hour of proving, a tip I stole from a bread recipe on this site; put a bowl of boiling water on the bottom shelf of the oven and then put the bowl of covered dough in (without the oven actually turned on). Works a treat for naan.
