Ingredients

  • 340 grams Milk
  • 5 grams instant yeast
  • 65 grams caster sugar
  • 65 grams Butter, Room temp.
  • 1 heaped teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 31/3 Cups Flour, Plain
  • Jam, Good quality-apricot or cherry are good.

Recipe's preparation

    Dough Mix
  1. Warm milk to 37 degrees and add yeast ,Gentle stir setting20 seconds. Allow time to sit for 5 minutes. add sugar butter salt egg and yolks, and flour. Combine on speed 3, 20 seconds.Dough modefor 4 minutes. Remove dough from bowl and place in a well oiled warmed bowl- not hot, and turn mixture over once to coat surface. Cover and place in warm spot till double in size. Scoop out in heaped tablespoons and roll into balls. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.brush with melted butter and cover. Allow to rise again. When well risen flatten slightly and use fingers of both hands to shape an indent in the centre of each and fill with jam. Leave once more to rise. Bake in Pre heated hot oven 200 degrees oven for 15-20 minutes or until browned.

Tip

These can be filled with your choice of filling, eg. Sweetened cream cheese, Stewed apple and sultanas, chopped nuts with honey and cinnamon etc. Best serve warm.

    I dont know what I have done wrong Cry my dough is like a wet soggy puddle.... what is it supposed to be like at the first prove?

    These were nice and fluffy and very yummy. A picture of what they are supposed to look like would be good, as I don't quite get the 'indent in the centre' bit.  tmrc_emoticons.~
