Recipe's preparation

    Candy Egg Mixture
  1. Add Pure Icing Sugar to Bowl, mix on speed 8 to sift sugar. Transfer to container and clean and dry mixing bowl.
  2. Add gelatine, water and glucose to Mixing Bowl
  3. 3 minutes, 60c, Speed 3 - extend time until all disolved
  4. Add Sifted Icing Sugar - Mix speed 5 for 6 Seconds
  5. Knead Dough mode"Dough mode" for 2 minutes until smooth
  6. Turn out onto ThermoMat and divide mixture into sections to make different colours and flavours. Be careful with peppermint and musk as these flavours are strong.
  7. Knead in the colours and Flavours using a little cornflour if needed.
  8. Wrap each section in glad wrap and leave to stand until next day in airtight container.

  9. Making the Eggs
  10. Next day flour moulds with cornflour, roll out the mixture as if pastry, line mould mixture into the mould as you would a pie. Fill the mould with plain flour and turn onto a piece of card board. Just like you are building a sand castle. Continue doing this until you have used up all the mixture. Cover with tea towel and leave for 36 hrs. Brush off the surplus flour off the half eggs, add lollies and stick together with Royal icing. Decorate as you want.

Tip

You will need Half egg moulds. For humid weather keep in an air tight container with some moisture sachets from medicine bottles.

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
