If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Place dates in a container of boiled water and soak for 30 mins.

    2. Drain dates in basket and discard water. Make sure that most of the liquid has been drained.

    3. Place all ingredients into bowl and blitz on speed 9 for 1 minute. Once done, check to make sure that the sauce has blended well. If need be blend for another 30 seconds.

    4. Pour syrup into desired containers. This will last for 1 week in the fridge, or it can be frozen for later use or into chocolate moulds.

*Please see tips below before waching bowl for a quick hot chocolate recipe.

Tip

*You can use the left over in the bowl to make a delicious hot chocolate. Pour the left over coconut milk from the can (should be around 150ml left) and add another 50ml of preferred milk. Blend on speed 10 for 15 seconds and then heat on 90C, 3 mins and speed 1. Serve once done.

*Must use full fat for the recipe as it makes a nicer, thicker consistency.

*Once you refrigerate it, it can also be used as a delicious mousse.

  • For a relatively healthy

For a relatively healthy alternative to a chocolate sauce, I have to say this one did hit the spot. Kids and adults alike, loved it. I used it to compliment my homemade banana split with creamy vanilla iceream. No-one knew it was made from dates...that's my little secrettmrc_emoticons.) Not sweet but very tasty.
