  • I love this recipe and I make

Submitted by Mixing it up on 31. October 2013 - 13:45.

I love this recipe and I make it to use up all the weetbix crumbs after we finish a packet or two. It would be nice to add the weight (45 g) of the 3 weetbix bricks for others like me who just weigh the crumbs. I also make double the mix at once so I can have a deeper slice... only because it's too yummy. tmrc_emoticons.;)

Love this thankyou so much! I thought instead of all that sugar to chop some dates and then cook them with the butter and golden syrup.... Just a healthier option for the kids.

new family favourite thanks again, tmrc_emoticons.)

I doubled the recipe, but halved the sugar and iced. Reminds me of the chocolate slice I had as a kid. Might add sultanas next time.

  • This is delicious! I used

    Submitted by sally77 on 31. January 2013 - 19:32.

This is delicious! I used less than half the sugar and a bit less golden syrup and it was still sweet enough for us.

Mine looked like it was going to fall apart after it had been in the oven -I gave it a bit of a squash down with the MC and put it in the fridge and once it was cold it was great and could be cut into slices.

  • Maybe it was your oven too

Submitted by Jeanette Pearce on 19. January 2013 - 21:10.

Maybe it was your oven too hot. That can happen sometimes. It's best undercooked rather than overcooked. Try it again and see how you go. tmrc_emoticons.;)

  • I agree about the safety

Submitted by Jeanette Pearce on 12. February 2012 - 17:37.

I agree about the safety feature on the TM when wanting to knead. Pleased that your family enjoyed it. To add a different flavour you could crush a peppermint crisp in with the weetbix and use this as an after dinner slice. Yummo!!!!

Pleased that you liked it. I don't use icing sometimes. Just depends it the kids get to it before I have time to ice. tmrc_emoticons.) I have used less sugar with each time I have made this recipe. It's a good way to ween the kids off the sweet taste of things.

    HI Charlotte,

This slice will keep for up to a week in a sealed container. You may have to hide it so the kids don't eat it all at once. tmrc_emoticons.;)

  • Loved this recipe even

    Submitted by Thermodru on 11. February 2012 - 18:08.

Loved this recipe even without the icing. Next time i would triple the mix as it made quite a small amount which didn't last long in our house. I would also next time perhaps lessen the sugar and butter and see how it goes, more for my benefit as a weight watcher. Thanks so much for this recipe, it's one of our new favourites.

    Submitted by CharlotteHamilton on 10. February 2012 - 10:24.

Have made now twice as the first batch got eaten tooo quickly Yummy! Just a tip let the butter syrup cool to under 50 before trying to put onto knead function as need function doesn't seem to work when bowl is above 50... sounds like a good safety feature to stop hot liquid shooting out the top as most of us knead without the MC in place...
