If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Tip

You can use any flavour chocolate you like. Caramel or peppermint are favourites here.

This custard goes quite thick and almost mousse-like once chilled.

Really yummy. I didn't have any cream so just used 440g milk and 60g Bailey's for an extra touch. Looking forward to trying it cold as well.

  • I wanted to make something

    Submitted by Islandmaid on 15. July 2015 - 06:07.

I wanted to make something quick to stretch a meal out, and this custard fitted the bill.

It was smooth and silky very rich and, in my opinion tasted better cold.

Will definitely make again - thank you for posting  tmrc_emoticons.)

Oh my goodness!!!! My family loved this custard. A quick, delicious dessert. I replaced the milk and cream for milk for 500g of rice milk and it was thick and creamy. Wow!
