  • Yum!! I made this last night and everyone loved...

Yum!! I made this last night and everyone loved it, especially my 9 yr old.

I made double the sauce so I had leftovers. I also added carrot with the veges (added these at the start of cooking the fish).

I needed to do 2 x extra 5 mins for the fish, it over cooked the bok choy a bit and I took the rice out at 17 mins. Next time I'll do 17 mins with rice, fish and carrots - take rice out, add bok choy - extra 5 mins.

I overcooked the salmon and undercooked the rice but once I sort that out, this is a great meal

  • Yumbo - I made this again

    Submitted by stickstitchmix on 12. September 2016 - 20:17.

Yumbo - I made this again tonight for the first time in ages. I used only 200g rice (for 2 adults  and 2 kids trying to limit carbs with dinner) with 900ml water as mentioned below. I put the fish on the tray (on wet scrunched baking paper) and later added a Varoma dish full of mixed vegetables (choy sum, carrot, capsicum, and broccoli). My fish needed 2 lots of extra 5 minutes of cooking ...next time I will cook one lot of 5 minutes extra and THEN add the veg for the final 5 minutes of cooking. I used a long red deseeded chilli in the sauce, and both boys (5 and 7 ate it up no problems and even asked for extra sauce - it made heaps so this was not a problem). Great recipe - thank you.

Not that anyone responds to these comments, but what is the measurement of water for cooking the rice? It says as in EDC cookbook but that is 400gms rice? So how much water should I use?

Yuuum! This was great. I cooked the rice at the same time as the fish, assuming that is what you are meant to do. I used dried chilli and white sugar, a little bit less, because thats what I had. Mixed veggies too. Will be making again, the sauce was great. Could also be done with chicken breast.

  • This is ABSOLUTELY delicious!

    Submitted by SherylKidd on 6. June 2015 - 14:57.

This is ABSOLUTELY delicious! As a Thermomix newbie I was a little apprehensive because I had not used the varoma before, but it was easy and so so tasty. I used some swordfish, so I cooked it for a little longer, and also I cooked the bok choi for a bit longer as well.

This will be a regular dish for us now.

Very yummy recipe full of punchy flavours!!!

I'm a thermomix newbie and still testing the waters with cooking times etc, I didnt quite cook the rice for long enough as it still had a slight crunch to it but otherwise everything else was just PERFECT! Hubby loved it too tmrc_emoticons.)

Will definately be making this regularly when fish is on the menu in our house.

Great, simple dish - thank you. I had double the amount of fish, and doubled the sauce, but don't think I need to next time as there was a lot. Everyone in the family loved it!

    Great Flavour

Being new to Thermomix thought I would give this a try, I didn't have rapadura so used coconut sugar instead used less than 50g. I used Hokkien Noodles instead of rice. It was very nice. Thank you for posting.
