I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    Rice & Fish
  1. Place rinsed rice as per EDC recipe and place rice in basket. Place fish in Varoma (I place baking paper on the bottom) Cook for 12 mins on Varoma sp 2, add bok choy in Varoma tray and cook a futher 5 mins Varoma sp 2, check that fish is cooked through properly, if not cook a further 5mins. Once cooked keep warm in Thermoserver.

  2. Sauce
  3. Add chilli, garlic, ginger and shallots to bowl and chop on sp 7 for 3 secs. Scrape down bowl. Add all other ingredients and cook for 90 degrees, sp 3 for 6 mins. Serve on top of rice, bok choy and fish.

You can minus the seeds in chilli to make dish more suitable for families with young children.

Garnish with shallots.

Don't over cook fish, if fish is cut up small it will cook quicker.

Chilli Teriyaki Fish

Yum!! I made this last night and everyone loved it, especially my 9 yr old.

I made double the sauce so I had leftovers. I also added carrot with the veges (added these at the start of cooking the fish).

I needed to do 2 x extra 5 mins for the fish, it over cooked the bok choy a bit and I took the rice out at 17 mins. Next time I'll do 17 mins with rice, fish and carrots - take rice out, add bok choy - extra 5 mins.

Really enjoyed this. Ate too much!

I overcooked the salmon and undercooked the rice but once I sort that out, this is a great meal

    DELICIOUS!!!! So Easy!!

We all loved this recipe!! The sauce is soooo tasty too. My daughter wants to take the left over sauce to put over vegies. Thanks for sharing!

Yumbo - I made this again tonight for the first time in ages. I used only 200g rice (for 2 adults  and 2 kids trying to limit carbs with dinner) with 900ml water as mentioned below. I put the fish on the tray (on wet scrunched baking paper) and later added a Varoma dish full of mixed vegetables (choy sum, carrot, capsicum, and broccoli). My fish needed 2 lots of extra 5 minutes of cooking time I will cook one lot of 5 minutes extra and THEN add the veg for the final 5 minutes of cooking. I used a long red deseeded chilli in the sauce, and both boys (5 and 7 ate it up no problems and even asked for extra sauce - it made heaps so this was not a problem). Great recipe - thank you.

Hi I usually make about 340g of rice, and put in 900g of water.

Not that anyone responds to these comments, but what is the measurement of water for cooking the rice? It says as in EDC cookbook but that is 400gms rice? So how much water should I use?

Very nice.  I left out the sugar and was still lovely.
