Tuna Patties with Sunflower & Pepita Crumb

Tuna Patties

  • 50 grams spring onions
  • 8 sprigs flat-leaf parsley
  • 425 grams tuna, canned, in springwater
  • 100 grams frozen green peas
  • 2 slices bread, crusty, mixed grain
  • 1 dash lemon juice
  • 1 pinch sea salt flakes
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 egg

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

    Tuna Patties
  1. Put spring onions (chopped into 3cm pieces) and parsely (leaves only) into the mixing bowl and chop 7seconds/speed 7.

    Add tuna (drained), egg, salt, pepper, bread and lemon juice and mix 7seconds/speed7.

    Add in peas and mix 10 seconds/ speed 3 until combined.

    Set aside and wash and dry mixing bowl.
  2. Crumb

    Add the sunflower seeds, pepitas and bread (cut into 3cm pieces) to the mixing bowl and chop 7seconds/speed 7.

    Roll the Tuna mixture into balls and then press them out into the crumb mixture making sure they are well covered.

    Fry in a frying pan with a tiny splash of oil of your choice, these can also be baked in the oven until golden brown.

    Enjoy with a salad or veggies.
