Recipe's preparation

    Beef and Red wine Pie
  1. Cut beef into 2cm chuncks. Put the flour and paprika in a bowl & stir to combine. Add the beef & toss to coat.

Put Onion and Garlic into bowl. Chop on speed 7 for 3-5 seconds

    Add oil and saute for 3 minutes/ 100 C/ Speed 1

Add Beef for 3 minutes/ 100 C/ REVERSE / Speed 1  meanwhile slice carrot into rounds

    Add remaining ingredients (except pastry).

Cook for 50 minutes/ 100C / REVERSE / speed 1 With measuring cup off and steaming basket on lid.

    When meat filling is finished:

Preheat oven to 180,  pour filling into a large pie dish or 6 individual pie dishes and allow to cool for 10 minutes (This prevents the mixture making the underside of the pastry too soggy). Cover with the pastry lid, pushing down the edges around the rim. Make a slit in the top with a sharp knife.

Bake pies in the oven until the crust is lightly golden, allow 20-25 minutes for individual pies & around 35-40 mintues for large pie.

Suggested sides: Mash Potato or Handcut chips with Tomato Chutney

Tip

This is a variation of the original recipe created as I did not have sage or anchovies on hand, however did have bacon in the fridge.
