Ingredients

500 g

Chicken pieces

  • 500 grams Diced Chicken Pieces (Breast or Thigh)
  • 2 tablespoons OilveOil
  • 500 grams spinach leaf, frozen, Spinach can be frozen or fresh
  • 100 g water
  • 20 g ginger knob
  • 1 --- onion, Finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 can Diced tomatos
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Caynne Pepper, Add more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground tumeric powder
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 2 pod cardomom pods
  • 70 g Milk
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala (EDC)
  • 2 tablespoon Butter, Omit for the healthy version

Recipe's preparation

    Making the sauce
  1. Add spinach and water to bowl 

    Boil the spinach on Speed 2 100degrees for 6min 

    empty into a container no need to clean the bowl 

    add garlic and ginger to bowl speed 7, 3sec

    add onion speed 5, 3 sec 

    add oil  then sauté 100'  speed 2, 3 min 

    add can of tomatos, salt, caynne pepper, turmeric coriander, cloves and cardomom pods 

    mix Counter-clockwise operation10min speed 1  for 6 min 

    add chicken and milk  mix Counter-clockwise operation10min speed 1  for 10/15 min (until chicken is cooked) 

    add pureed spinach back in and garam masala 

    cook Counter-clockwise operation on Gentle stir setting at 100' for a further 5 min 

    serve with basmati rice

    Nice flavour however the recipe needs some corrections. Doesn't state the temperature at two steps, I assumed it mean't 100 rather than 10min in both steps. It has butter listed as an ingredient (says to omit for a healther option) but doesn't say when to actually add it in the recipe.

    Cooked this tonight and was relatively straight forward and tasted nice.

    If you are using fresh spinach leaves like me, I added an extra step after the boiling step to blend them up a bit. I think it was 3 secs on speed 7. 

    Also, make sure you drain the pureed spinach mix well as the extra bit of water, on top of the milk/tomato, can make it a little runnier than it is supposed to be.

    cooked this last night. was yum! ! hubby made it on stove though as he preferred to cook rice in thermie  ( we were hungry so couldn't wait! )

    Just checking what temperature I should be cooking on during both the tomato/spice time and the chicken time. I'm going to assume 100.
