      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place sausages in the varoma tray. Scatter the carrots, poatoes, sweet potato and pumpkin in the bottom of the varoma dish.

  2. Place the 1 litre of water in the bowl, insert simering basket into the bowl and measure rice into the simmering basket.

  3. Put varoma into place on top of thermomix and cook for 20 minutes / varoma temperature / speed 4.

  4. Place the varoma diah aside and tip the rice in a thermoserver to keep warm. Clean and dry the bowl.

  5. Place onion and garilic into the bowl and chop for 4 seconds / speed 7. Using spatular scrape down the sides.

Add oil and curray powder into bowl. Cook for 5min / 120 degrees / Speed 2.

  6. Add vegetables from the varoma dish to the bowl and mix. 30sec / Counter-clockwise operation / speed 2, until coated in curry mix.

  7. Disolve the beef stock cubes in the 250g of hot water.

Than add the beef mixture, coconut milk and salt and pepper. Cook for 5min / 120 degrees / Counter-clockwise operation / speed 1.

Tip

If you perfer purely stemed sausages, skip the searing step. Then after the 20 minutes of steaming are up check if the sausages are cooked all the way through. Depending on the size of your sausages, you may need to steam for an extra 5 - 10 minutes.

Stock paste can be used instead of beef stock cubes, in this case the 250g of water does not need to be boiling hot water.

Can prepare the ingredients while searing the sausages.

The liquid thickens up when it cools down. If you want it thicker when cooked, than swap the can of coconut milk to coconut cream.

Be creative with the choice of fruits and vegetables. The above combination is my families favourite.
