If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
- Add garlic and chilli (if using) to bowl and chop 3 seconds/speed 7
- Scrape down sides of bowl and add olive oil, diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Cook 25 minutes/120°C/"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 1 using the simmering basket in place of the measuring cup.
- Transfer the tomato mixture into the varoma.
Without washing the bowl, add the bacon and cook 6 minutes/120°C/"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 1 (mc on). - Add the mushrooms and shallots and cook 3 minutes/120°C/"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 1 (mc on).
- Return tomato mixture to bown and cook for a further 2 minutes/120°C/°"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 1 (mc on).
- Serve over boiled pasta and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
