      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1.

    1. Pan roast sesame seeds 5-10 minutes medium heat stirring constantly.

As soon as seeds turn golden brown and glisten and you can smell the aroma, transfer to a cold  tray to cool otherwise it will continue roasting in the hot pan and become burnt.

    1. Put sesame seeds into TM jug.

    2. Blend 3 min Speed 6, scraping down after each minute until smooth.

    3. Store in clean glass jar in fridge. Keeps well in fridge.

Note: this recipe does not need any oil.

I love that it only uses sesame seeds without having to add oil. So easy and delicious. I'm now about to try the same method to make black tahini.

  • The recipe was extremely easy

Submitted by Rainbow wildflower on 4. September 2016 - 18:08.

The recipe was extremely easy and the result delicious. Next time I will perhaps not brown the sesame seeds so much. They were fine, but became very dark in the Thermomix as they were being turned into Tahini.

  • First attempt ever at Tahini

    Submitted by KiwiG on 18. November 2015 - 20:33.

First attempt ever at Tahini - couldn't be more simple, and so delicious.  What is so nice is knowing that the only ingredient is sesame seeds!

Was worried after 2 mins when I scraped the bowl down as it was pretty thick and paste like, but the conistency is lovely and creamy after 3 mins.

I separated the sesame seeds into two batches and put into two pans at same time to toast, worked well.  Only took 4 mins to toast them.

    Many thanks for recipe.  tmrc_emoticons.)
