This was a great way of using up the cherries that were a bit old. Super easy. I read the comments and followed the advice of reducing the sugar to 80g and added some vanilla extract. It's delicious!

A delicious jam and so easy to make. I made a double quantity and palced the basket on top ....What a mess cooking on Veroma. Once I turned it back to 100deg it didn't splatter so much. Just glad I don't have light colour bench tops. The jam is amazing though. I will make it again next season & use as gifts for friends.

So simple and delicious, followed everyone's suggestion with reducing sugar to 80g added a little vanilla paste and it's perfect. Made 1x240ml mason jar.

I doubled the recipe but had the basket upside-down. Didn't double the sugar or the apple i blended the apple before added cherries. I added 3tbls of lemon juice and 1 tblsp of vanilla paste was sweet enough for us was delighted. The colour and taste was on point. Will be making this again.
I only got 2 small jars.

Super easy to make. Made double quantity, doubled all ingredients except sugar which i put a total of 100 gm. Cooked for 25 min, put basket on top after first 10 min when started bubbling through lid. Blended for 5 sec at speed 5 at end, I prefer a thicker jam.

Great recipe! Was a great way to get rid off leftover cherries. Reduced sugar to 80 grams and added a teaspoon of vanilla paste.
Perfect jam!

Great recipe.
we picked 1kg of cherries today, froze half as I want to make a cherry/apple cake ( yet to find a recipe).. then decided to make your jam, I doubled the recipe and when it started to bubble too much I turned it off for 30 seconds. Perfect!

I made this cherry jam recipe, and doubled the ingredients. I followed the recipe exactly. cooking on the Varoma setting and with the basket on top I found the jam mixture splattered everywhere. I turned it down to 100 deg and he same thing happened after a few more minutes cooking. I can't imagine what I have done wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

A great way to use leftover cherries.
I will certainly make this again but will reduce the sugar as it was a little bit too sweet. The recipe made one large jar. It definitely needs to be kept in the fridge.

Was a winner here! Used as Christmas gifts and were well received! Have made several times now with great success handy if you have lower grade cherries or ageing ones hanging around!
Also used it as a base for pav topping......mixed with some fresh cherries in the pan and dribbled over!

Thank you! We just went cherry picking and this helped us use up and share the cherry love! I doubled the recipe and put the basket on top to contain the splatter. Next time tim going to triple it and see how I go as it only made such a small amount.
I increased the recipe by 4x and it turned out just fine

Yummm! I reduced the sugar
Yummm! I reduced the sugar content to 80g and it's still sweet enough. I only got 1 jar though; not the two indicated in the recipe; could be the size of my jar. It's so easy to make too. I think I've found my Christmas presents to make this Christmas. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Delicious jam! I used 480g pitted cherries, 1 apple, a squeeze of lemon juice and 100g sugar. Added a vanilla bean and am so glad I did. 20 mins on Varoma "Counter-clockwise operation" speed one and 5 sec/speed 5 at the end worked here. Still a little sweeter than I like my jam, even though I reduced the sugar so much. I really should have worn gloves to pit the cherries as my hands are stained!
