Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Added extra spices and included chilli flakes and nutrional yeast.
My tomatoes were home grown, so on the sweet side.. needed to add more salt to our taste. Also needed to thicken even though I cut down on the vinegar..
Came out beautifully !
Thank you 🥰

Love the flavour of this recipe but is very runny. Found best result is if qtr toms and onion, sprinkle with 1/2 tbsp salt, leave in non-corrosive bowl for 4-12 hours (I leave overnight) then drain before following the full recipe works really well.
also I reduce sugar to approx 100gms grams and only 230grams vinegar and halve the curry powder.

upon reading the comments I decided to add an apple and a handful of sultanas. I also added 3 tablespoons of cornflour and cooked for 50 minutes (I have a husband who cannot stand runny foods) so the consistency was perfect for us.
I use this as a relish on sandwiches or it's also yummy on homemade puff pastry scrolls.
thanks 😊

I found that if it is a bit runny, just cook for a little longer till you have the consistency you like. It does thicken slighly after it has cooled. Love the idea of adding chilli. Will do that next time. It is also nice on cruskits.

Beautiful recipe that is loved by my family and relatives. We blitzed it a bit to make more of a sauce and the kids have it on everything!!

I am no expert but ours is usually in th fridge for ages.
However I do preserve it by placing the hot relish in clean jars. I clean the jars either by hand or in the dishwasher then fill them with boiling water ( from jug). I submerse the lids. After empting the jars I place them on a tray in the oven. You know the jars are sealed when the safety button stays down. If it doesn't keep in the fridge. There are a number of websites that proved more detail.
Hope that helps.
Can someone please tell me
Can someone please tell me how long this would keep in the fridge ?
Or how could I preserve it ?
