Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Put 1 litre of water in thermomix bowl, and place basket into bowl. Weigh in 200g pearl barley. Cook for 40 minutes, Varoma, speed 2. Meanwhile, cut cauliflower into small florets and place in Varoma tray. Put Varoma in place when pearl barley has 20 minutes left to cook.
Wash barley in cold water when cooked and drain. Allow to cool. Allow cauliflower to cool also.
Combine in a large bowl with pomegranate arils, chopped dried cranberries, toasted and chopped walnuts, chopped pistachios, chopped mint and chopped parsley. I chop the herbs and nuts by hand.
In a jar combine the olive oil, white balsamic binegar, pomegranate molasses (see notes) and salt and pepper. Shake jar and pour over salad then stir gently to combine.
